1955 Adkins Reunion Book

The Regimental Court of Enquiry 120th Regiment of the Cabell County, Virginia Militia Book

This project is now complete we are now filling orders. This 118 page book covers the years prior to the Civil War 1839 to 1845 along with extra Militia lists including the year 1858. It lists the names of every able bodied man aged 18 to 45 of the Cabell, Wayne Counties and surrounding areas. It will include some biographies of men who served, descriptions of their uniforms, muster locations and the transition period when Wayne County split off from Cabell County. A meeting of a board of officers of the 120th Regiment was called for the purpose of more completely organizing the said regiment on the 28th day of January 1839. Those present at the meeting were Capt. Joseph J. Mansfield, John B. McGinnis, Isaac Handley, Adam S. Hatfield, William Simmons, and Benjamin Drown. Oaklawn Cemetery Book

This book was projected to be completed by the 1st of June, 2009. A change of management at the cemetery brought the project to a temporary standstill. However, the owner has promised to resume working with us on the project and we hope to complete it early next year. The book will contain the readings of all gravestones and burials listed in the cemetery. Oaklawn Cemetery is located at 6155 E. Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, West Virginia. The History of Owens Illinois Volume 2

The History of Owens Illinois Volume 2 will contain cartoons from the plants bulletin boards, interviews with plant employees and retirees. We need persons willing to be interviewed about what they have done since the plant closed and or stories submitted by families of those who contributed to OI. New photos of the Rod and Gun Club and few other surprises. The 302 page book covers the time period of 1950 to the plants closing. Project is now completed and available for purchase. Douthat Articles

We are indexing the Douthat articles from the Herald-Dispatch and they will include those edited out of the newspaper at the time. Douthat was a County Clerk of the Cabell County (West Virginia) Court. Indexing is ongoing.

200th Anniversary Cabell County History Book

The 200th anniversary Cabell County History Book, Volume 2 project is in progress and work on the project is coming along very nicely. Numerous businesses in Cabell County will be 50 or more years old. We are going to include as many of them in the book as we can. We have new church histories that were not in the first edition. The deadline for submitting individual family histories has passed. We thank those who contributed and look forward to seeing the finished product. We are shooting for a December publication date.
