Reprint of Colonel Zachary Taylor Vinson's letter to the Wayne County News
Herman Dean was the owner and editor of the Wayne County News in 1923. He decided to do a "Souvenir Homecoming Edition" of the paper and asked everyone to submit articles for publication. There was a huge response. One of those who responded was Colonel Zachary Taylor Vinson, prominent Huntington attorney and former Wayne County citizen. His letter contained so much history that it is worth repeating here.
